Transferring to external accounts
Updated 12 May 2026
External transfers send money to accounts at other banks. Navigate to Transfers > New transfer and select "External" as the transfer type.
For UK domestic transfers, you will need the recipient's sort code and account number. If you have the recipient saved as a beneficiary, you can select them directly.
External transfers are processed through the Faster Payments network and typically arrive within two hours, though some may take up to one business day.
All external transfers require sufficient available balance and may be subject to daily transfer limits.
