Can I cancel a payment?

Whether you can cancel a payment depends on its status. Payments that are still pending may be cancellable — check the payment detail page for a cancel option.

Once a payment enters the processing stage, it generally cannot be cancelled. Faster Payments in the UK are typically irrevocable once submitted.

If you have sent a payment in error, contact our support team immediately. We can assist with the recall process, though the recipient's bank must agree to return the funds.

For scheduled payments that have not yet been sent, you can cancel at any time before the scheduled date.
